For a strong program like Marshalltown, it was a tough rebuilding year where the game won just one game and their offense only averaged eleven points every Friday night. This group continues to have a lot of question marks to fill in the off-season but the hope is that they have enough younger athletes ready to step forward and make an impact. Defensively, lineman Blair VanStaalduine may be undersized but he dominated in the trenches. As a junior, he racked up sixteen tackles for loss along with seven sacks. Added bulk to his frame will only allow him to do even more for the Bobcats. Ben Rebik and Josh Edel are two other players on that side of the ball to follow. The offense has the most question marks to fill with a host of skill players along with linemen spots needing to be replace. How quickly this club can get comfortable moving the football will determine if Marshalltown can play their way back into the postseason.
