Eagles in play with elite junior OL

Logan Tuley-Tillman may ended up being rated among the top offensive linemen in the Class of 2013 and if his early list of verbal offers is any indication that wouldn't come as much of a surprise.

Boston College is just one of many schools that have verbally offered the Peoria (Ill.) Manual offensive tackle, with Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Tennessee and West Virginia being just some of the others.

With so many regional powers already in the mix one might assume the Eagles are a long shot. That could be accurate, but BC is trying to make an early impression that gives them life for the long haul. Sometimes if you get your foot in the door early it gives you a shot later.

"Yeah, I like BC," Tuley-Tillman said early this week.

"They put out a lot of offensive linemen and that's something I've noticed. That's definitely a place I'll look at. I haven't taken a visit up there but that's probably something I'll do. I don't know when yet.

"I've talked to Coach Dave Brock a couple of times and he seems like a real good guy."

With other names like John Montelus, Mike McGlinchey and Brendan Mahon also being targeted at offensive line, the Eagles could have a big year at the position. Securing a commitment from Tuley-Tillman would be an enormous challenge because of proximity and his offer list, but BC is clearly gauging his interest.

Tuley-Tillman plans on visiting some of the nation's most prestigious programs in the coming weeks and months.

"I'm going to Ohio State, Notre Dame, Michigan and West Virginia in February," he noted. "I might go to Arkansas and Tennessee in February. There could be a couple of other places. I just don't know."

While the Eagles are in the mix they have some ground to make up.

"I would say my early favorites are Michigan, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Alabama and a couple of others. Alabama is another school I'll be visiting," he said.
