Quarterback plans to return

Caleb Scepaniak said he's excited after his Boston College junior day visit because the Eagles seem interested in him and asked him to return a few times before his senior season starts.

The Binghamton (N.Y.) Seton Catholic Central pro-style quarterback said Boston College asked him back for its spring game and for a one-day camp this summer. That's when the 6-foot-5, 225-pound recruit thinks he can earn an offer.

"It was good," Scepaniak said of the junior day visit. "I got to talk to a lot of the coaches, they took us around the stadium and they showed us their indoor facility, the hockey rink, the basketball court and they showed us the classrooms.

"I got to talk with my recruiting coordinator, coach (Jeff) Comissiong, and he wants me to e-mail him tonight so I can talk to him. He wants me to come down for a one-day camp and for the spring game."

Scepaniak, who worked out at the U.S. Army National Combine in San Antonio over the holidays and performed well, said he's unsure about the spring game but will definitely return for camp.

Stops at Boston College, Penn State, Iowa and Buffalo, among others, are expected and Scepaniak said the Eagles will definitely remain on his list. The visit went well and he heard good things from his recruiting coordinator.

"They said I have to get down to their one-day camp and then they'd see from there about an offer," Scepaniak said.

"It's pretty exciting. My recruiter said I left a big impression on the head coach so that's pretty cool. I'm probably going to go to a lot of one-day stuff."

Syracuse, Connecticut, Wisconsin, Purdue, Illinois, Indiana, Duke and North Carolina State are some other schools showing early interest.
