Few saw it coming in the playoffs but Grinnell peaked at
the perfect time. They shocked Iowa Falls-Alden in the substate finale and
proved to the 3A world what they could do at State with an opening victory
against Waverly-Shell Rock. The Tigers hope to use that momentum heading
into 2013 and have the pieces returning to get the job done. Eli Dunne was
dominant as a sophomore offensively while pouring in ten points a night.
With Joe Nowasell and Joe Schmidt back around him, this group will have a strong
core to build around. Finding others capable of stepping up is a must but
this group will be a tough regardless of who else steps forward.
Who do we feel can win the conference title? Who is our preseason
MVP? What other players are there to follow?
