Boyden-Hull
Their losses may be why they were overlooked but
Boyden-Hull used a brutal regular season schedule to help them dominate in Des
Moines on their way to the Class 1A State title. The championship proved
why this program remains among the best in all of Iowa, regardless of class.
Graduation does hit hard but having Brandt Van Roekel, Colin Bolkema, and a
number of other experienced seniors will once again keep them in the picture for
a second straight title. Van Roekel is an excellent athlete who has used
his size and court vision to dominate. Look for his scoring to grow while
others around him step up and prove that they can take some of the pressure off
of his shoulders.
