Albia
It is amazing how quickly Albia has turned themselves into
a program that struggled to compete on a consistent basis to one of the best at
the Class 2A level. This club won their first twelve games before falling
narrowly to Waukon in the playoffs. An exceptional group of seniors have
moved on but this program is still ready to battle for a district crown.
The offense has Ryan Sarver and Matt Baker both back and each has excelled
athletically moving the chains. Their roles will increase as each is also
asked to step up as leaders throughout the year. Keep an eye on Nick
Yarkosky opening big holes up front after an all state sophomore year.
Their defense has their top three tacklers back in the fold with Blake Bayer,
Blake Lawless, and Bryce Leshen all returning. A few spots remain up for
grabs but the potential is there for a great run during the fall.
Most Valuable Player: Ryan Sarver
Centerville
A strong 4-2 start out of the gate ended up being
enough to push Centerville to the postseason last fall before losing their
