2014 Class 3A, District 7 Preview

Carlisle
After a 1-4 start out of the gate early on, Carlisle
came together down the stretch and it showed as they won three straight games.
The late surge pushed them into the playoffs and gives the 2014 version a lot
of momentum around the program. The offense brings back two difference
makers with running backs Tyrell Erb and Kichanh McMullen. This duo
combined to go over the 2,000 yard mark last fall on the ground and did a great
job working together as a team. Top receiver Noah Smith along with
quarterbacks Jordan Pierce and Josh Hagedorn will help bolster this group as
well. Chase Shanahan and his 121 tackles return on the defensive side of the
football. He will be thrust into a bigger role but has the skills needed
to get the job done. Nolan Vollstedt, Tyrell Erb, and a host of others
return with experience as well.
