Belle Plaine
Despite scoring just over two touchdowns per game,
Belle Plaine was still able to make a run to the postseason before falling to
Wapsie Valley in the first round. In order to improve offensively the
team will be relying heavily on the trio of Vance Bohlen, Jordan Reineke, and
Trey Squiers. Each showed flashes of what they could do last fall so
expect the coaches to put them in the best situation possible to excel.
Bohlen doubles as their top tackler on defense and will be asked to carry this
unit as well. Zac Slaymaker, Joey Schwenn, Josh Long, and Reineke are a
few other names to keep an eye on as well throughout the year.
Most Valuable Player: Vance Bohlen
BGM

lot of credit for what they accomplished throughout the 2013 season. This
club won 14-games and battled their way to the Class A title game with a
special group of players. Graduation hits the club hard with many elite
players moving on but the talent pool has not dried up. Twelve starters
are back for another go around and that includes an experience group in the
trenches. Combined with their size, these big boys will make life much
easier for the athletes around them to help the team move the chains. The
Bears go have a few areas of concern but keep an eye on Shane Slaymaker,
Spencer Meldrem, Jake Tibbetts, and a few others to really step forward and
become leaders on a club that could be dangerous as the year wears on.
Most Valuable Player: Mayson Sherwood
Colfax-Mingo
Colfax-Mingo started the year exactly as they had
hoped by scoring 113 points in their first two games that ended with victories.
Opponents quickly started ..........
