others. This senior will have a tough decision ahead but feels that one
program stands out to him the most.
"Eastern Michigan is #1 and they are showing me the most interest. They have
offered. I have a lot of interest from Iowa State and Wake Forest. There is also
interest from UNI and others."
Spears traveled the country over the last few months on the college camp
circuit.
"I went to about nine of them. We started out with Duke, Iowa State, Iowa,
Nebraska, Northwestern USC, Wake Forest, Eastern Michigan, and UNI as well. They
were all very good."
His performances were something that Spears was happy with.
"I think I performed really well. I learned a lot of things that will help me
for this next year. The camps will jump start things for my senior season."
Spears came away with positive feedback with the coaches he had a chance to
speak with.
"I did really well at the camps and I think I am high on most of their
boards. There are no new offers right now but after the first three games they
want to see my highlights so that they can get a better understanding for me as
a player."
The high school season is only weeks away and they open the year against
Sioux City East.
"We had a chance to play them in 7-on-7 and they are a really good team. We
are expecting another challenge but hopefully our new Heelan team can take it to
them and get the win."
