Linn-Mar guard Nic Uhlir was unable to suit up for the All
Iowa Attack in their first tournament of the AAU season. This junior is
excited for the opportunities ahead of him and can't wait for things to
officially get going.
How did the high school season go overall?
I thought the high school
season went pretty well. We were a young team who had one of the toughest
schedules so I think that will really help us next year. It is always hard
losing in the state but Senior had a great team.
How have things gone
with the Attack?
It has been going good. Unfortunately, I missed the first
tournament because I went to the Final Four. I was glad that the team did great.
Was it a tough decision to miss a tournament?
It was tough to decide but
it is hard to turn down the final four. My uncle was nice enough to get us
tickets so it was a family decision.
What are your goals for the AAU
season?
Personally it is to get more interest from coaches. It is a big goal.
As a team, we would like to win some of the big championships.
What areas
can you improve on as a team?
I'd say we need to work on defense. We have a
ton of scorers so being able to stop the other team is another big part. We
really need to step up on that side of the floor.
What colleges have been
recruiting you?
I have gotten letters from Columbia, UNO, Drake, and Wayne
State.
Have there been texts or calls?
No it has mostly been letters.
What school is recruiting you the hardest?
It is pretty equal.
What camps are you going to do?
I'm going up to the Columbia camp. I am not
sure about any others yet.
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
Yeah, I like Duke and Kansas. They are my favorite. My sister actually attends
Kansas so that is why I am a big Kansas fan. I have always been a Duke fan.
